The person behind the table.

Ama Udofa cooks and tells stories: at the supper club table, in recipe books, on video and in writing.

Food, memory and tradition

Where the cooking comes from.

Food is how Ama makes sense of people and places. He cooks traditional dishes like ekpang nkukwo, bakes chicken and potatoes for friends, and makes chicken sandwiches from scratch, and he is as interested in the story around a dish as in the recipe for it.

He will travel to another city to eat amala and ice cream and climb a hill for no reason at all. Curiosity is the thread through all of it, which is why so many of his stories start over a meal and end somewhere you did not expect.

Why he hosts

What the table is for.

The Amazing Supper Club is a multi-course dinner with wine pairings, and it is where everything he does meets: the cooking, the stories and the people. A shared table does something a restaurant booking rarely does. It puts strangers within reach of each other.

He has been feeding friends at home too, from dinner and presentation nights to beers and a tray of roast chicken. Ama wants guests to arrive curious and leave a little more connected: well fed, talked to, and a bit surprised by who they ended up sitting next to.
